THE FESTIVAL BROUGHT TO YOU BY FUSION FIGHTERS.
How it started..
Welcome to Fusion Dance Fest 2020, the Festival brought to you by the progressive performance crew Fusion Fighters. FDF 2020 offers dancers from around the world the chance to learn and perform with our Internationally acclaimed teaching faculty. The eight day long camp is anchored with traditional Irish dance forms but also introduces a variety of Irish show styles, body percussion, tap dance, contemporary, sean nos & hip-hop into the mix. Dancers will get to work along side our experienced faculty for eight days of workshops, seminars, video projects, evening events, street performances and culminating in a student showcase at the Millennium Theatre in Limerick and trip to the Fleadh Cheoil.
Fusion Fighters was launched on St Patrick’s Day 2013 at the ‘Mayor of London Festival’ in Trafalgar Square, London. Their progressive Irish dance initiative has established itself now worldwide where they work intensively in the creation, production and delivery of international dance campaigns and video projects. Fusion Fighters also deliver specialist performance workshops specifically designed to enhance a dancers performance, confidence and fitness.
Their own professional dance crew explores a broad spectrum of dance styles to create hybrid dance forms and innovative new ideas on how Irish Dance can be presented to a modern audience. Performances are presented through live theatre, site-specific happenings & music collaborations, along with the development of contemporary audio-visual experience with dance. Although this work is still anchored within Irish Dance, they have dedicated themselves to continuously evolve & develop how Irish Dance can be presented to today’s audiences and generation of dancers. They are quickly building a community of dancers from countries all over the world and using their growing platform to support emerging talent and a range of campaigns.
